前人大代表因多次強姦被判處死刑 (Former Chinese Lawmaker Sentenced to Death for Multiple Rapes)

據中國官方媒體報導，一名前全國人大代表因在兩年期間強姦了20多名中學女生被判處死刑。據報導，吳天喜在2005年到2007年間主動尋求年輕女孩實施強姦。中國中部的河南省一家法庭星期二將他判處死刑。

報導說，年齡漸高的61歲的吳天喜相信與12到16歲的女孩“交合”將延年益壽、財運亨通。同案的一名幫助吳天喜尋找這些女孩的婦女和其他幾名同謀也都被判處了有期徒刑。

吳天喜在事業上曾很卓越，還被河南省命名為優秀企業家之一。他在1998年到2003年間曾經是全國人大代表。

Chinese state media report that a former national lawmaker has been sentenced to death for raping more than 20 middle school girls over a period of two years. According to reports, Wu Tianxi was actively seeking out young girls to rape between 2005 and 2007. He was sentenced to death by a court in central China's Henan province on Tuesday.

Reports say the aging 61-year-old believed that having sexual relations with the girls (between the ages of 12 and 16) would boost his health and wealth. A woman who helped Wu track down the girls and several other accomplices were also given jail terms in connection with the case.

Wu had an illustrious career and was once named one of Henan's top entrepreneurs. He served in China's National People's Congress from 1998 to 2003.

The officials from China, US and others will hold a multi-national discussions in Berlin that will discuss possible new sanctions against Iran next week. 

The upcoming talks in Berlin will be the first between U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her counterparts from China, Russia, Britain, France and Germany since the release of a new U.S. intelligence estimate on Iran.
