Russia and China have expressed concern about the possible use of force against Iran, following a comment from France warning of the prospect of war over Tehran's nuclear program. Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow is worried by reports that there is serious consideration being given to military action against Iran. He made the comment after talks in Moscow with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said Beijing is opposed to what it called the unbridled threat of the use of force in international affairs.
On Sunday, French Foreign Minister Kouchner said the world should prepare for the possibility of war against Iran, if nuclear negotiations fail. But Iranian President dismissed the warning, saying it was a comment intended for the media that should not be taken seriously.
