布希與穆沙拉伕討論國際及區域問題(Bush, Musharraf Discuss International and Regional Issues)

布希總統在白宮會晤了巴基斯坦總統穆沙拉伕，討論範圍廣泛的國際和區域問題。兩位領導人在聯合記者會上說，雙方的會談坦誠，並加深了對彼此的信任和信心。

President Bush has met with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf at the White House to discuss a wide range of international and regional issues. The two leaders told a joint news conference that the talks were candid and reinforced trust and confidence in each other.

President Musharraf said both Washington and Islamabad are on a joint hunt for Osama bin Laden, and that there is no need for publicly discussing the strategy and the tactics of the hunt.

President Bush said he had a very good and candid discussion with the general and that he admires his courage. He said the Pakistani leader has been a target of extremists and terrorists because he is a strong and moderate leader.

General Musharraf said President Bush has the will and desire to resolve the Palestinian problem, which he said is at the heart of international terrorism.

The two men also discussed Pakistan's relations with neighboring India and Afghanistan. General Musharraf said he also explained the recent truce that the Pakistani military reached with pro-Taleban militants in the semi-autonomous tribal regions of Pakistan.

Mr. Bush said the Pakistani leader assured him he will hold free and fair elections.

真主黨領導人在貝魯特“勝利集會”上現身 (Hezbollah Leader Appears at 'Victory' Rally in Beirut)

黎巴嫩真主黨領導人納斯魯拉星期五在貝魯特南部一場大規模支援者集會中現身，慶祝他領導的激進團體所說的對以色列的“神聖勝利”。這是納斯魯拉自以色列7月12號在黎巴嫩開始長達一個月的攻勢以來，第一次出現在公開場合。

納斯魯拉在幾十萬名手搖真主黨黃色旗幟的歡呼支援者前走上講臺。以色列與真主黨都聲稱自己贏得最近這場為期34天的戰爭。

Hezbollah's leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah appeared at a massive rally of supporters in southern Beirut Friday to celebrate what his militant group calls its "divine victory" over Israel.

The appearance was the first time that Nasrallah has appeared in public since Israel's month-long offensive began in Lebanon on July 12th.

Nasrallah walked onto a stage in front of hundreds of thousands of cheering supporters waving yellow party banners. Israel and Hezbollah both say they won the recent 34-day war.
