美軍用飛機飛往北韓半島 (U.S. Military Plane Heads for the Korean Peninsula )

日本內閣官房長官鹽崎恭久星期四說，聯合國安理會正準備向平壤發出強烈資訊。平壤星期二宣佈，將在一個沒有具體說明的日期試驗一種核裝置，以加強針對美國的防務能力。日本向安理會成員國散發了一份措辭強硬的決議草案，警告北韓不要進行核子試驗。 俄羅斯外長拉伕羅夫說，莫斯科正在跟北韓舉行直接會談，設法緩和局勢。 日本媒體報導說，美國一架能夠偵測放射性的軍用飛機星期四早些時候從沖繩美國空軍基地飛往北韓半島。

Japan's chief cabinet secretary, Yasuhisa Shiozaki, said Thursday the U.N. Security Council is working on sending a strong message to Pyongyang, after it said on Tuesday it would test a nuclear device at an unspecified date to bolster its defenses against the U.S.. Japan circulated a strongly-worded draft text to Council members Wednesday warning North Korea not to carry out the nuclear test. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters hat Moscow is holding direct talks with North Korea in an effort to diffuse the situation. Meanwhile, Japanese media reports say a U.S. military plane capable of detecting radiation left the U.S. Airbase at Okinawa earlier Thursday headed for the Korean Peninsula.

巴拿馬神秘疾病導致十七人亡 (Mystery Disease Kills 17 in Panama)

巴拿馬衛生部說， 一種神秘疾病造成的死亡人數上升到了17人。有關官員星期三說， 又有兩名患者死於這種疾病。他們說，這種不明疾病侵害患者肝臟，導致神經系統損傷。死者年齡都在60歲以上，而且都患有高血壓、糖尿病和腎功能疾病。巴拿馬宣佈了全國流行病警告，但是衛生部說，這種疾病看來並不傳染。其他10位出現高燒、腹瀉和局部麻痹症狀的巴拿馬人正在恢復之中。

Panama's health ministry says the death toll from a mystery illness has risen to 17. Officials said Wednesday that two more people suffering from the condition died. They say the unidentified disease attacks the kidneys and causes neurological damage. All the dead were over 60 years old, and were already suffering from high blood pressure, diabetes and kidney problems. Panama has declared a national epidemic alert, but the health ministry says the illness does not appear to be contagious.　Ten other Panamanians are recovering from the disease, after suffering fever, diarrhea and partial paralysis.
