北韓證實將參加下輪核會談 (North Korea Confirms Participation In Next Round Of Nuclear Talks)

北韓領導人金正日對到訪的中國國家主席胡錦濤說，平壤將參加下一輪的北韓核計劃六方會談。

星期五在中國國家主席開始對北韓首都進行罕見的訪問時，中國國家電視臺報導了這一消息。

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-il has told visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao that Pyongyang will participate in an upcoming round of talks about its nuclear programs.

That information came Friday from a Chinese state television broadcast, as China's president began a rare visit to the North Korean capital.

Mr. Hu's trip precedes the next round of six-nation talks on North Korea's nuclear ambitions. That round is set to take place in Beijing next month.

During last month's six-nation talks, North Korea agreed to abandon its nuclear weapons program. But Pyongyang later said it first wants to be provided with light-water nuclear reactors for civilian energy production.

中國人大修改稅法 (China's Legislature Amends Tax Law)

中國人大採取措施減輕低收入工作人員的稅務負擔。

中國官方的新華社報導說，人大修改了個人所得稅法。新的稅法規定，任何個人月收入在1千6百元人民幣(約197美元)以下的不必交所得稅。目前的標準是800元人民幣(約100美元)。

新的稅法將在明年年初開始生效。 v新華社援引財政部長的話說，新標准將有助於低收入和中等收入群體的利益。

中國貧富之間的收入差距越來越大，國家受到的要求減輕窮人負擔的壓力也越來越大。

China's legislature has taken steps to ease the tax burden for lower-paid workers.

China's official Xinhua news agency says legislators amended the country's personal income tax law (Thursday).
The new tax law says that anyone making less than 197 dollars a month will not be required to pay income tax. The current threshold is about 100 dollars.

The bill is to take effect at the beginning of next year.

Xinhua quoted a finance minister as saying the new threshold will help care for the interests of low and medium-income groups.

China is seeing a widening gap in income between the country's rich and poor, and has been under increasing pressure to ease the financial burden on the poor.
