日本和俄羅斯獲發生海嘯警告 (Tsunami Warning Issued for Japan, Russia)

日本氣象部門和美國太平洋海嘯預警中心在千島群島發生強烈地震之後發佈了日本和俄羅斯太平洋海岸可能會發生海嘯的預警。

日本氣象部門說，海嘯可能會有兩米或者更高，有可能會在當地時間淩晨襲擊日本太平洋海岸。日本氣象官員建議海該地區的居民撤到地勢比較高的地方。到目前為止還沒有出現海嘯波浪的報告。馬庫斯島、威克島和中途島也收到了海嘯預警。

太平洋海嘯預警中心測到的地震強度為8.1級。太平洋海嘯預警中心證實地震的震級為8點1級。美國官員說，這樣震級的地震很有可能會引發毀滅性的海上大浪，形成的海嘯在地震發生的幾分鐘以後就可能襲擊震中附近的海岸。

Japan's meteorological agency and the U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center have issued a tsunami warning for Japan and Russia's Pacific Coast after a powerful earthquake struck the Kuril islands.

The Japanese agency says the tsunami could be two meters or more, and had been expected to hit Japan's Pacific coast earlier this morning. Japanese weather officials are advising residents in the area to flee to higher ground. There have been no reports of tsunami waves so far. Warnings have also been issued for the Marcus, Wake and Midway Islands.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center confirms the earthquake as having a magnitude of eight-point-one. Officials say an earthquake of this size has the potential to generate a destructive wave that can strike coastlines near the epicenter within minutes of the quake.

中國逮捕兩涉嫌間諜活動臺商 (China Arrests Two Taiwan Businessmen Suspected of Spying)

中國逮捕了涉嫌為台北做間諜的兩名臺商。中國國務院台灣事務辦公室發言人李維一星期三證實了這一消息，並說中國海峽兩岸關係協會已經通知了嫌疑人的家人。

中國海峽兩岸關係協會負責處理中國和台灣之間的交流。自從1949年內戰結束以來，雙方間的間諜活動一直沒有停止過。

中國沒有具體說明嫌疑人被指稱的罪行。但是台灣媒體報導，中國逮捕兩名臺商是因為他們被指向台灣提供軍事情報。

China has arrested two Taiwanese businessmen suspected of spying for Taipei.

China's Taiwan Affairs Office spokesman Li Weiyi confirmed the arrests Wednesday and said the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait has informed the suspects' families.

The association handles exchanges between China and Taiwan. China and Taiwan have been spying on each other since the end of a civil war in 1949.

China did not specify the suspects' alleged offenses, but Taiwanese media have reported that Chinese authorities arrested the two for allegedly providing military secrets to Taiwan.
