沙特天然氣管道失火二十八工人喪生 (Saudi Gas Pipeline Fire Kills 28 Workers)

沙烏地阿拉伯國家石油公司阿美公司(Aramco)說，位於沙特東部省份的一條天然氣管道失火，導致28名工人喪生。阿美公司說，死者中有5人是阿美公司的僱員，其他人是合同工人。

阿美公司說，目前火勢已經被控制，公司已經採取了一切必要的措施，繼續向國內輸送網路提供正常的天然氣供應。

Saudi Arabia's national oil company Aramco says a fire along a gas pipeline has killed 28 workers in the country's eastern province. Aramco says five of the dead were Aramco employees, while others were contract workers.

Aramco says the fire is under control and the company has taken all necessary steps to continue the normal supply of natural gas to its domestic network.

Aid workers say the death toll from Cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh is likely to rise sharply as they struggle to reach the most devastated areas in the southern part of the country to provide relief to survivors.

Authorities say Cyclone Sidr destroyed roads and cut off electricity and telecommunications, impeding the efforts of local and international agencies. Officials say the storm, which struck land Thursday, is the worst natural disaster in more than a decade.

The Bangladeshi government increased the official death toll to more than 24-hundred on Monday. The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society says the death toll could reach 10-thousand as more victims are discovered in hard-to-reach areas.

Bangladesh has deployed military ships and helicopters to help the relief efforts.
