法國總統敦促中國努力保護環境減少氣體排放
(French President Urges China to Work to Protect Environment and Reduce Emissions)

法國總統薩爾科奇說，中國必須採取行動，保護環境，幫助減少與全球變暖有關聯的氣體排放。薩爾科奇星期二在北京對清華大學學生發表演講說，他不是要求中國放慢經濟增長速度，而是以清潔的方式發展。

薩爾科奇還敦促世界上最大的排污國家之一的中國參與他所稱的新的世界範圍內的“生態和經濟新政”。新政是指美國前總統羅斯福對抗1930年代經濟大蕭條提出的計劃。

下個月，一些國家將在印度尼西亞的巴厘島舉行會談，商討一項新的氣候變化條約，以取代2012年到期的聯合國京都議定書。

French President Nicolas Sarkozy says China must act to protect the environment and help reduce emissions that are linked to global warming. Speaking to students at Beijing's Tsinghua University Tuesday, Mr. Sarkozy said that he was not asking China to slow down its economic growth, but to grow in a clean way.

Mr. Sarkozy also urged China, one of the world's biggest polluters, to join what he called a new worldwide "ecological and economic New Deal," a reference to former U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt's program for fighting the great depression of the 1930s.

Next month, some countries will hold talks in Bali, Indonesia to work on a new pact for climate change to replace the United Nations' Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012.

環球影城將在韓興建造價三十億美元主題公園
(Universal Studios to Build 3 Billion Dollar Theme Park in South Korea )

由美國環球影城公司牽頭的一組投資商說，計劃在南韓建造一個價值超過30億美元的主題公園，這將是環球影城在亞洲建造的第3個主題公園。這家公園將建在首爾西南的華城的一處海濱地帶，計劃2012年開放。

這個主題公園希望每年吸引1000萬遊客，包括來自中國的遊客。公園將包括酒店、一個高爾夫球場和一個購物中心。

經營美國佛羅裏達州奧蘭多和加州好萊塢以及日本大阪的環球影城主題公園的這家公司還計劃在新加坡和迪拜建造渡假村。

A group of investors led by U.S. movie company Universal Studios says it plans to build a theme park in South Korea worth more than three billion dollars - the company's third resort in Asia. The park is slated to open in 2012 and will be built at a seaside location in Hwaseong City, southwest of Seoul.

It aims to attract 10 million visitors a year, including tourists from China. The park will include hotels, a golf course and a shopping center.

Universal Parks and Resorts, which runs Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando (Florida), Hollywood (California) and the Japanese city of Osaka is also planning to build resorts in Singapore and Dubai.
