教皇呼籲世界領導人結束衝突 (Pope Appeals to World Leaders to End Conflicts)

教皇本篤十六世向聚集在羅馬聖彼得廣場成千上萬信徒發表傳統耶誕節講話時，呼籲全球衝突和平解決。教皇星期二呼籲結束非洲、中東和世界其他地區的血腥衝突。

Pope Benedict has appealed for peace in conflicts around the globe in his traditional Christmas message to thousands of people gathered in Saint Peter's Square in Rome. The pope Tuesday appealed for an end to bloody conflicts in Africa, the Middle East and elsewhere around the world.

The pope urged world leaders to have the wisdom and courage to end these conflicts around the world. Benedict expressed hope that the light of Christ would shine forth and bring consolation to those who live in the darkness of poverty, injustice and war.

德國對一萬兩千人進行兒童色情調查 (Germany Investigates 12-Thousand People for Child Porn)

德國檢察官正在調查1200名涉嫌擁有兒童色情材料的人。有關當局說，調查已經進行了幾個月。一名州檢察官對德國電臺說，調查還涉及到其他70個國家的嫌疑人。

German prosecutors are investigating 12-thousand people on suspicion of possessing child pornography. Authorities say the probe has been under way for several months. A state prosecutor told German radio the investigation also involves suspects in 70 other countries.

The operation began after an internet provider in Berlin tipped off authorities when he noticed very large data transfers.
