Shahida Akhter in Cambodia
Dr Shahida Akhter is one of the language editors of Banglapedia, the national encyclopedia of Bangladesh. Her areas are folklore, Education and Language. The Banglapedia is  the publication from Asiatic Society of Bangladesh.

 Dr Akhter has a chequered career and has worked with the Ministry of Education in Bangladesh, UN Peace Keeping Mission in Cambodia . She

has also worked as a Senior Fellow of the Ford Foundation. She has written a number of books and articles on different topics. She has produced a documentary on Bangladesh folk life and presented it to

 the Smithsonian

Shahida Akhter is now in Washington DC to attend the folk festival of the Smithsonian Institute as an invited guest.  In this exclusive interview with VOA Bangla Service Shahida Akhter briefly narrates her activities both at home and abroad.
