The United States says it will immediately remove North Korea from its terrorism list if the North agrees to a nuclear verification plan.

Last week, North Korea announced it had halted the disablement of its main nuclear complex (in mid-August)and was considering restoring its reactor. North Korea said its move was a response to Washington's failure to remove it from a list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Chief U.S. nuclear envoy Christopher Hill said today (Saturday)the de-listing could happen instantly if North Korea agrees to rules allowing verification of the shutdown of the country's nuclear program.

Hill says North Korea would only have to agree to the rules the U.S. wants and would not have to prove its shutdown to be removed from the terror list.

Countries involved in talks on North Korea's nuclear weapons program are holding a second day of discussions today (Saturday)in Beijing on Pyongyang's plans to restore its disabled nuclear weapons plant.
