An explosion has rocked a crowded flower market in India's capital, New Delhi, killing a boy and wounding at least 17 others.

New Delhi Police Commissioner Y.K. Dadwal says witnesses saw two men on a motorcycle drop a plastic bag containing a lunch box today (Saturday) outside a shopat the Mehrauli market. The market is a popular destination in the Indian capital.

Officials say a boy picked up the package, and it blew up.

Authorities describe the bomb as crudely made and of low intensity.

Police immediately cordoned off the area. Today's blast comes two weeks after a series of bombings killed 22 people in markets across New Delhi.

No one has claimed responsibility for today's attack.
