New York based Katayoun Beglari-Scarlet, or as she is known to our
viewers, Nazzy Beglari, is a senior international correspondent with PNN with more
than 20 years of experience.
As our International Correspondent she has covered major political
events around the world, including wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon
as well as serving as our United Nations correspondent. She has
interviewed world leaders including Former US President, Jimmy Carter,
Israeli President Shimon Peres, Afghan President Hamid Karzai and
Massoud Barzani president of Kurdish Regional Government in Iraq.
On a recent trip to Iraq she interviewed the Commander of Coalition
Forces in Iraq, U.S. General David Petraeus and the American
Ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker.
She has also interviewed renowned cultural figures such as the writer of
"The Satanic Verses", Salman Rushdie, Academy Award winning film
director, Martin Scorsese, Italian American actress, Isabella
Rosseillini and internationally acclaimed Iranian film director Abbas Kiarostami.
