During Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao¡¦s visit to the U.S., he accepted an interview with CNN¡XAmerica¡¦s Cable News Network, in which he discussed the issue of Tibet.  A legislative member of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile Kelsang Gyaltsen said that Wen Jiabao¡¦s comments contained nothing new.

Independent Beijing-based scholar Wan Lixiong, who has written a number of books about Tibet, said that there are some indications that China¡¦s high level leadership has been reduced to empty talk concerning Tibet, due to the resistance of cadres to the implementation of certain specific policies.
